History behind the cookbooks

As some of you know I am a self author and a self publisher! I have produced all my own cookbooks since 2000. It has been a long learning journey, but well rewarding and loaded for of fun. I have 2 current books in print. BACKYARD BBQ The Art of Smokology™ and Simple BACKYARD BARBECUING From Grilling to Smoking.

I have had several people ask about these books. First, The Art of Smokology is a book all about smoking, there is nothing in the book the relates to grilling at all. The front of the book is loaded with tips and techniques about proper smoking for the newbie smoker. The second half of the book is full of some pretty good recipes, that were all developed by myself, wish I am very proud of. It has done really well and has been on the BEST SELLER list of Amazon.com for the past 4 years, mostly in the TOP 15.

I have been smoking since 1980, both in the restaurant business and the competition.

My second cookbook, Simply BACKYARD BARBECUING From Grilling To Smoking, is a new combo cookbook and replaces my Old Grilling cookbook, plus it features most of my smoking tips and techniques with some new added smoking  information. This book was produce through all the information I now teach in my 15 different grilling or smoking classes here in the kansas City Area. It also has a combination of great recipes that are ALL tested and used in my BBQ classes. To date I have taught over 500 classes with over 11,000 students in the past 8 year, featuring over 15 different Grilling and Smoking, from 2 hour to 4 hour demonstration classes to 4 hour "hands-on classes. Some very unique things like Grilled Salads and Grilled Finger Foods. This book came out in the mid- 2009 season and was

Each month I post a new recipes from my cookbooks on my website, so you can get a test for what is in the book.

I hope you check out one of my books and if you already have one, I hope you have enjoyed it. To those who have been kind of enough to do any type of review, I thank you for your time in sharing your thought son the books. If you every have a questions in regards to the book or recipe you can contact me right here on my web site, and I will respond as quickly as possible to your questions.

Keep the BACKYARD Smoke rolling.
