Junior Chefs Academy Pro Cooking Classes
Well, the 3 day classes featuring 9 year old through 13 year olds came and went last Monday through Wednesday. What a cool time. All the parents should be proud of their kids, they were well behaved, listened well and had a great time. We did a lot of cooking, I learned a lot from them. They were into cooking and knew more than I thought they would have!! Some of them know more than some of the cooks I know cooking in restaurants.
They follow the food channel and knew many of the cooking terms. Plus it working out great that I has on TV one of the days, so they got to get up early and tell they parents that their chef was on TV before the Wednesday class.
This class was a SMART addition to what we are doing at the CCKC. I believe the attention to the youth of today will lead to the chef's of tomorrow.
It was one of the MOST rewarding classes I have done. I look forward to the next class in two weeks, which is ALREADY SOLD OUT!

Day1:
Knife skills, cutting and handling a knife which lead to making a Classic Minestrone Soup!
Julia's Beef Burgundy with Fre Burgundy Wine (alcohol free wine) they thought that was cool!
Honey Sour Cream Dip for Apples
Homemade Ranch Dressing from scratch with Yogurt.
Day II:
Mother Sauce: Brown Sauce, Bechamel and Sweet Tomato Sauce, which lead to:
9 cheese Mac & Cheeese (using reduced fat cheeses)
Sweet Tomato Sauce learning how to toss spaghetti
Day III:
Meatloaf Muffins with Sweet Tomato Glaze
Briased Swiss Steak
Lemon Herb Roasted Cornish Hen (we learned about the air drying method)
Chicken Lollipops with my Famous PB&J Sauce with Reduced Fat Peanut Butter & Sugar-Free Grape Jelly!
Flavor Packed food and classes.
Just thought I would share what the kids did, and THEY DID 100% of the cooking!
